Memnon Luxor - in Arabic al-Uqsur, the city of the enjoyment - and western Thebes, is from an archaeological point of view one of the most important cities of the country. In the region of Thebes, we will find the necropoles, the Valley of the Kings and of other Temples, which already ensure for a true monumental feeling. Luxor also has a picturesque corniche, the Amun Temple, which was set up mainly by Amenophis III. Beyond the borders, Luxor shows the gloss of old Egypt, in particular with one of the obelisks which today decorate the Place de la Concorde in Paris.
